Erik’s Talk

Erik gave a talk on Baptism this past Sunday at church during Primary (our junior Sunday school).

Here he is with the pictures he used for his talk…baptism, confirmation, and taking the sacrament.

This is what his talk said:

When I am 8 years old I can be baptized. When we are baptized we enter the Church of Jesus Christ. We receive many blessings in the Church. Through repentance and baptism we are forgiven of our sins. Baptism is a commandment from Heavenly Father. When we are baptized we promise to keep the commandments. If we do this we can have the Holy Ghost to help us, and we can live with Heavenly Father and our families again someday. When we are confirmed we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost can teach us what is true, and help us make good choices. The Holy Ghost gives us a warm happy feeling. Each time we take the sacrament, we can remember the promises we made when we were baptized. Each week we can repent again, and be forgiven again when we take the sacrament. If we keep trying to keep the commandments we will get better at it, and we can keep repenting when we make mistakes. I can't wait to be baptized when I am eight. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Alex’s Birthday!

Alex’s birthday was yesterday! Erik decorated the cake with lots and lots of sprinkles, and he put most of the candles on himself too. He gets so excited to help plan and get ready for birthdays!

We used some of the trick candles on the cake (you may remember those from my birthday)…Alex blew them all out! It took a little while, but he didn’t have to resort to water as I did on my birthday :)

We were going to go out to eat for dinner, but Erik was feeling a little sick and whinny…so Alex decided to grill steak instead. It turned out really well, and we had corn on the cob and thick seasoned fries too. We ate outside while the kids went on the swings. It was really nice and relaxing!

Adam is such a messy eater! This is him while eating a nutella sandwich. If you can believe it, a minute later he was even messier…he got chocolate on his forehead too. It makes for some funny pictures, but boy cleaning him up every time he eats takes forever sometimes!

The End of Preschool

Erik’s last day of preschool was last Wednesday (May 20th). He had a great time at preschool all year and we are all sad it’s over, but glad he is excited for kindergarten next August!

Adam loved Preschool too! He always had a good time when we went to get Erik or had a meeting or a field trip. Everyone loved him too. Erik's friends would try and hug Adam, or get him to play with them. He also begged lots of food off people at meal times, and got away with quite a lot by being so cute. Erik's teachers were always so sweet to him and welcomed this noisy little visitor into class whenever we were there.

Adam’s Birthday Pictures

Here are some pictures from Adam’s birthday last week.

Adam’s “looking” through the periscope on rocket, and saying “scope…scope”. So cute!

Adam wanted to eat the cake really badly. He wouldn’t blow out the candles…he just wanted to grab the whole cake! So we had Erik blow them out quick, and we hurried up and got Adam a piece of cake! Then he was happy!

On Adam’s birthday we also set up the little pool outside. At first he didn’t want to get in, but pretty soon he got used to it and didn’t want to get out. We ended up getting out the pool two more times since then! Pretty much if we are outside very long we want to be wet because…it’s too HOT!

It seemed like Adam’s birthday went on all week…every couple days he got another present in the mail from grandparents! Both the kids had lots of fun with the new toys!

Here’s Thomas the train…Adam says “Thomas, cho…cho.” He likes to dance to the music that the train plays.

And the car garage. Adam’s favorite is the green car he’s holding in the picture. He carried that car around with him all the time for at least three days after he got it!

And finally, the boys being cute “sleeping” on the couch together. (oh, and there’s the green car again :)
